Smart sensing materials for hard tissues

Inputtime:2023-10-13

1. Visual Detection with Photonic Crystal Hydrogels

Introducing responsive hydrogel materials into photonic crystal structures, this approach enables naked-eye detection of mechanical stimuli, chemical molecules, biological molecules, bacteria, cells, and more through structural color changes. Combined with functional materials, it achieves integrated diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

2. Biomechanical Sensing

We are developing naked-eye biomechanical sensors by incorporating mechanochromic smart hydrogels as coatings in combination with other materials. These sensors directly convert biomechanical signals into changes in the hydrogel's color, enabling the real-time and intuitive monitoring of biomechanical signals.
