Bioadhesives
Inputtime:2023-10-13Supramolecular Self-Assembling Bioadhesives: Bioadhesives have wide-ranging potential applications in various medical settings. Tissue adhesives that promote wound closure, for example, offer advantages over traditional closure methods such as sutures. They are faster, less damaging to tissues, and can provide functions like hemostasis and wound healing promotion. Addressing the different requirements for repairing soft tissues (such as skin and mucosa) and hard tissues (such as dental and bone tissues), we have developed a series of multifunctional biological adhesives through the strong hydrogen bonding interactions between macromolecules (e.g., silk protein) and natural polyphenols (e.g., tannic acid).
